Kommuninvest i Sverige AB

Kommuninvest of Sweden is a public sector owned and guaranteed credit market company, regulated by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.

In its role as public local debt office, the company occupies an exceptional position in the market. Since starting up in 1986, Kommuninvest has helped reduce the municipal sector’s financing costs by SEK 300 million (app. USD 36 million). 

 

Kommuninvest lends only to municipalities that are members of Kommuninvest Cooperative Society, and to their majority-owned companies. All members are jointly committed to unlimited cover of all Kommuninvest liabilities.
 
Operations is funded by borrowing on the Swedish and international capital market. Kommuninvest's borrowing has the lowest possible risk rating: BIS 0 percent. Implicit Kingdom of Sweden support for local government underpins credit quality.
 

The local debt office comprise of two integrated units. Kommuninvest Cooperative Society is the owner organization and handles administration for the joint and several municipal guarantees that make up the guarantees for the company. 

 

Kommuninvest i Sverige AB is the Society’s credit market company offering members credit and financial consultation services.
