The Nordic countries have the largest local public sectors in the world. Exemplified by the Danish and Swedish systems; the Nordic model and its impact on the welfare system was described.
In Sweden focus was on the importance of the local government sector in the welfare society.
In Denmark focus was on experiences concerning the comprehensive local government reform.
